Intending to stay 5 days we ended up spending three weeks in Etosha Park! The masses of animals at the waterholes at this time of the year (September) during dry season is simply amazing. We had over 20 lion encounters, saw several times leopards, hyenas and cheetahs as top predators. We were free to choose any Camp in the evening, because reservations were not necessary due to the continuing lack [ ... ]

Namibia’s Landscapes
Namibia’s landscapes are stunning wide, open and empty. The sparce vegetation allows the geology to be obvious like in an scientific book. The Mavic-Drone is in nearly continuous use to allow us to understand the combination of hills and valleys. We love Namibia!
Travelling Namibia in an Iveco Daily 4 x 4
After three month travelling South Africa, we are exploring Namibia from South to North in our south-african Iveco Daily 4 x 4 and are very much enjoying the open landscapes, the space, emptyness and Nightsky. Some pictures as impressions from Namibia.
Kruger National Park [South Africa]
Winter is the best time to encounter the big cats of Kruger like lion, leopard, cheetah plus wild dogs and hyenas (upload of fotos on progress). We are lucky to have sighted all of them during our stay in Kruger (25 days in total), but they are not an easy target as the grass is still high, waterholes are not yet reliable places where wildlife has to come to drink (we had sufficient rain that filled [ ... ]

Touring 777 days in an Iveco Daily 4 x 4 C - Camper from Alaska to Mexico, we generally focus on landscapes, wildlife and plants. But here we'd like to share some shots of ourselves on tour.
Iceland’s Aurora Borealis – Northern Lights on Iceland – Nordlichter Island
Seit mehreren Tagen bzw. Nächten warten wir am Jökulsarlon auf Nordlichter. Und endlich klappt es bei Vollmond. Allerdings nur kurz. Um 18:45 Uhr gibt es einen klar erkennbaren Bogen über den Gletschern und ein paar Flashs als senkrechte Linien. Doch der Zauber hält nur rund eine Stunde an, dann wird die Aurora zum schwachen Bogen und verschwindet fast ganz. Fürs Auge ist nichts mehr erkennbar, nur die Kamera erfasst noch das zarte Glimmen eines sehr flachen Bogens.
